Sam L Griffith

One of the greatest names in open water racing, Griffith created the Gold Coast Marathon in Florida, was a founder of the Orange Bowl Regatta and Pelican Harbor Yacht Club in Miami. He broke Gar Wood's 41-year-old record for the Miami-New York run, won the Miami-Nassau race, and was an outstanding sportsman and promoter of international boat racing.
