Bill Giles

Giles saw his first boat race in 1945 and bought his first Mercury engine, becoming the "terror of the Taunton River." He has held every Region and club responsibility.

Nationally, he has served as Chief Referee at the 1995 Stock and Modified Nationals, Stock Outboard VP, Stock and Modified commissioner, an APBA Council and on various committees. Giles has raced every Stock Outboard class, plus PRO, Mod and OPC winning numerous championships. Among his awards are the A.C. Kiekhaefer Trophy, the Gulf Hall of Fame, Gulf Gold Cup Driver of the Year and the John and Flora Blank Trophy.

Bill has built over 200 race boats, some have won National Championships. Few have dedicated so much of their lives to the sport of boat racing as Bill Giles.
