1995 | Don Allen
Allen joined APBA racing in Stock B Utility in 1953 and has since raced in all Stock Outboard classes and in many Modified classes. Under Paul Kalb's tutelage, he became active in APBA administration.
He was PRO Chairman of Region 6 (1970) and Trenton Outboard Racing Club Commodore (1971). As Region 6 Chairman for six years, he brought Offshore racing into the Michigan area. He served as APBA secretary (1977-78) and as a Council member (1985-92), representing the Council Members-At-Large on the Executive Committee (1987-92). He also served on the Stock Outboard Commission, was a Modified Outboard Deputy Commissioner and Region 6 OPC chairman.
Allen brought his six children into APBA racing; (one won the 1991 JSH Nationals; and continues to bring new members into APBA racing and promote Stock Outboard as a family sport. His professional conduct and consistent, unbiased application of the rules have made him an outstanding referee in almost every category. Don Allen has distinguished himself in power boat racing.
