1991 | O.F. Christner

O.F. Christner

Christner made outstanding contributions to power boat racing for over 40 years. O.F. Christner's Quincy Mercury and Quincy Looper racing engines dominated the PRO and Modified Outboard categories from the 1950s to the 1980s.

Christner converted a production Mercury engine into a racing machine and made it available to the average racer as the Quincy-Merc. He then designed myriad other special parts and accessories at affordable prices.

Quincy Loopers helped Jerry Waldman rewrite the record book and win over 45 national championships. Christner helped revolutionize the sport of Alky Outboard racing with his inventiveness and mechanical know-how. Over many years, directly and indirectly, he brought countless competitors to the Alky classes.
