1985 | Jack Leek
Since 1941, Jack Leek of Zion IL was deeply involved in APBA Outboard racing, from Formula I to Midget alky burners.
Starting with Midget Class after WWII, Leek raced in most Stock and Racing Outboard classes. Leek's technical skills made him the most successful driver of the time, using modified stock Outboards from his own shop in several alky classes. His vocation meshed beautifully with the development of super high performance Outboard motors.
Besides Leek's racing success, he played a vital part in founding racing organizations in the Northwest. For over a decade, he also served as an APBA representative to UIM, and on numerous technical committees and racing commissions.
