1985 | Henry (Shakey) Shakeshaft JR
Shakeshaft, of Bedford, VA, started racing in 1928 in various Outboard classes. In the 1920s and '30s when Outboard drivers were classified amateur (Division I) or Professional (Division II), Shakey campaigned all up and down the East Coast, collecting a remarkable amount of trophies and silverware.
He was deeply involved in promoting and participating in short course and marathon events, including the Outboard races at Acapulco, Mexico in 1947. Shakey also got into the record books, starting in 1952 and as recently as 1985 with a record in C Service Hydro.
