An APBA member since 1952, Bob Wanamaker had wide experience as an owner and driver in both Stock Outboard and Limited Inboard. In addition to competing, Wanamaker served two terms as Region 2 Chairman, as Council member, Inboard Vice President, Senior Vice President and APBA President, as well as on numerous commissions and committees. He was instrumental in bringing about the original APBA-CBF agreement.
Always a strong promoter of boat racing, Wanamaker continued to devote considerable effort to spreading the story of the sport through various media including literature, motion pictures and television.
