For more than a quarter of a century, George W. Sutton, Jr. worked diligently to bring about worldwide recognition of the American Power Boat Association and its records through liaison with the Union of International Motorboating (U.I.M.) in Brussels, Belgium. He served as president of APBA from 1935 through 1937 and was instrumental in effecting the region system of governing motor boat racing.
